Having looked at the ad, Shadbolt appears to decided there’s a better chance fightng the funding cut to SIT on issues other than the merits of SIT’s funding levels.

I guess if you’re appealing to all NZers, the message, “Give my polytechnic money that would otherwise go to yours”, isn’t that saleable.

Perhaps the recently honoured for services to the Community Billionaire Owen George GLEN might render further service by funding the shortfall in Tim’s Polytech.(but only if Tim reverts to urging all to vote Liabor.

Remember the SIT set up a campus in Christchurch to cater for a need for trades training when the Canterbury Polytech was running Sing along courses, golf courses and other bums on seats courses.
Surely polytechs that produce real skilled workers should be rewarded.
That is what the SIT has been doing in Southland with its Zero fees.
Its funny down here in Southland when hard core Labour people are supporting the govt decision(Via the TEC) rather than the local institution.Lesley Soper(Labour list) has also been a predictable poodle rather than with Wayne Harpur(Labor candidate 2005) who has a far more independent view.
Labour will lose Invercargill by 10 000 next year.Serves them right !
